While downtown on business, I had time to dirve over and check out nearby areas along the Scioto River. I sarted at Marble Cliff and worked my way back to Confluence Park, and up the Olentangy bikepath to the King Avenue dam. The riparian zone here is very narrow and hemmed in by major roads, so I wasn't expecting any big windfall (except at Marble Cliff). Best birds were

cormorant - one swimming in the pool above the King Ave dam

Great Egret - 2 in the backwaters below the Long Street dam across from the Water Plant on Dublin Road

Vireos - singing Warblings were still at Marble Cliff and Long Street dam riparian areas. They're sticking around right to the edge of their migration window.

Thrushes - Swainsons were at several of the stops

Warblers - only a few. Marble Cliff was best, with Blackpoll. Magnolia, Tennessee, and another late Yellow-throated. Long st. chipped in an Ovenbird
