Sorry everyone...didn't get around to posting this yesterday. The north end of Hoover still had a nice number of shorebirds early yesterday morning. I only had time to hit the boardwalk and the Wiese Road access point.

The flats off of Wiese Rd. had a large concentration of 'peeps' at sunrise. There was considerable movement of each flock so it was hard to get accurate numbers but here are the estimates I ended up with:

Shorebirds:

Semipalmated Plover 16
Killdeer 20
Greater Yellowlegs 1
Lesser Yellowlegs 3
Semipalmated Sandpiper 56
WESTERN SANDPIPER 1
Least Sandpiper 35
WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER 1
Stilt Sandpiper 5
Short-billed Dowitcher 6

Other Highlights from the boardwalk:

Black Tern 1
Red-breasted Nuthatch 1
