Greetings---today 9/16 there were 2 red-breasted nuthatches and a rose-breasted grosbeak at my feeder here in Poland Twp, Mahoning Co.  Pretty unusual for mid-Sept.  Speaking of feeder bird possibilities, I read the forecast for irruptives out of Canada for this winter on the Michigan Birds listserve.  I suppose the Ontario listserve would have the same report.  It is fascinating and useful information.  Other than white-winged crossbills and pine siskins, we may be in for a good show this winter!   Certainly the forecast for red-breasted nuthatches and purple finches is already coming true in Ohio.    Later, Craig
