With a bit more free time, I spent a few hours at the Hebron Fish Hatchery and the nearby west end of Buckeye Lake (Lieb's Island). Despite having pools in various states of drawdown, the hatchery shorebird totals were very anemic. Landbird migrant fallout was better at both sites, although it would be a stretch to say it was a good fallout. Highlights included:

Herons - 7-8 Great Blue's at the hatchery, along with another 4 at Lieb's island. A Green Heron was also in the channel at the Lieb's Island parking area.

Waterfowl - lots of geese (260+), fewer Mallards, and 1-2 Green-wings were at the hatchery. Virtually nothing was at Buckeye Lake, save for a Mute Swan.

Shorebirds - 30+ Kildeer and 2 Lesser Yellowlegs were all that graced the hatchery.

Raptors - single Cooper's Hawks at each site were the only notable raptors

Woodpeckers - the hatchery had many, including Red-headed, sapsucker, and 9-10 flickers

Flycatchers - Pewee and Phoebe at the hatchery

Swallows - 40+ Rough-winged and 25+ Tree at the hatchery. This is one of the best spots in central Ohio to see late swallows

Vireos - 2 Red-eyed and 1 Blue-headed at the hatchery

Thrushes - 2+ Swainson's and 100+ Robins at the hatchery

Warblers - hatchery had decent diversity but low #s, while the reverse held true for Lieb's Island. Best were 2 very late juvenile YELLOW WARBLERS foraging through a willow at the base of Lieb Island. The island also had a decent accumulation of Yellow-rumps (12-15) and Cape Mays (6+), as well as Tennessee and Black-thr.Green. The hatchery had Bl-thr.Green, Yellow-rump, Magnolia, Palm, Blackburnian, Blackpoll, Cape May, and Redstart.

Grosbeaks, Buntings - a single Rose-br.Grosbeak was at Lieb's Island, while 3 Indigo Buntings were along the edge of the hatchery

Finches - a single Purple Finch was eating ash seeds along the SE edge of the hatchery.
