I journeyed to St. Marys Fish Hatchery this morning in search of the
Sabine's Gull. I was there from 10:30 to noon, and as others have reported,
the gull was not seen.

I did, however, meet a birder who moved to the area from Wisconsin a few
weeks ago. He was not aware of the OOS website or the list-serve. He has
been birding the hatchery by bicycle every few days and first saw the
Sabine's Gull on September 14, and has seen it several times since. Thus
this bird has apparently been present for two weeks. As I expected, I was a
day late.

I provided the list-serve info to this man so he can report sightings in the
future.
