Greetings---Conneaut was slow this morning, best birds there were: blue-winged teal, green-winged teal, hen greater scaup (now in heavy wing molt), 55 d-c cormorants, green heron, black-crowned night-heron, imm. sora, 2 Baird's sandpipers, short-billed dowitcher, great black-backed gull, Caspian and Forster's terns, purple martins, magnolia warbler, yellow warbler, c. yellowthroats, brown thrasher. A wild turkey was along I-90 towards Ashtabula. At Mosquito L: blue-winged teal, 11 great egrets, green herons, osprey, bald eagle, 2 sanderlings + a modest number of common shorebirds, e. wood-pewee, yellow-throated vireo. Birds are starting to collect around the west end of the causeway (Rte. 88). The south end also is worth checking. Best viewing is opposite Mahan-Den? Rd./Hoagland-Blackstub Rd.. Just take the gravel road out east into the edge of the lake. Quite a convenient vantage point, in the comfort of your auto. Craig Holt, Lowellville
