I tried for the White-winged dove this morning at the farm off of Township road 419 in Holmes County this morning from 7:30 - 10:00 - no luck whatsoever. The farm owner told us that their has been less and less Mourning doves lately and with a lot of corn harvest beginning, food is abundant everywhere, hence diluting his concentration of doves. Also, I think dove season began today or so was the word on the farm. I hope someone can relocate the bird or it shows up there again soon - I searched nearby fields, wires, etc. and came up empty. I thanked Dean for allowing us on his property - very neat place.

One cormorant and two Green Heron were seen flying over too.
