I, Bob Lane, am a field engineer for a general contractor. Since
august 8th I have been assigned, luckily at the right time, to a bridge
project in Conneaut, 2 miles from the shorebird site.
I stay at the Lakefront Motel overlooking Conneaut harbor three
nights a week, giving me the opportunity for several hours of birding 3
evenings and 3 mornings each week. The motel is within walking distance of
the sandspit and the observation platform lagoon.
As anyone who has been there knows, the activity and sightings can
change by the minute.
In the past 5 weeks I have recorded 23 species of shorebirds and a total of
72 species of birds.
