Well after a valiant, but unsuccessful attempt sparrow-hunting at Mentor
marsh, as well as a couple hours searching in vein for a certain 6 inch owl
through endless vine tangles at Headlands, I was all the more elated to find
a new yard bird at the feeder here in Boardman when I got home.
A Pine Siskin!
As I said, this is the first I have ever encountered in the yard, and I've
put seed out for over a decade. This certainly seems to be shaping up to be
a birding winter to be remembered.
till next time,
John G Petruzzi
