Hi all,
There were at least three LeConte’s Sparrows at Funk Bottoms today at the same location reported yesterday. After viewing one of the birds, I had to break away from the group to get back to the Big Sit. On the way I flushed a Yellow Rail east of a mowed path (near the LeConte's). It only flew 10 yards before landing back in the grass. I got the others attention and we searched vigorously without being able to flush it again. It might be worth checking the area tomorrow.
Also of interest was the local flock of over 50 Sandhill Cranes.
