An interesting day of birding in Wakeman, Lorain County, with the
arrival of pine siskins, my first of the season. Still have lots of
gold finches, house finches, white-throated sparrows, RB nuthatches
as well as a pair of purple finches. The front yard scared up six
flickers no doubt feasting on lawn pasta (grubs). Finally, the downy
woodpeckers (2) have returned. Haven't seen any in the yard for quite
sometime. A Carolina wren can be heard but not seen.
Happy birding
