Today I saw the third Blue-headed Vireo this week at Highlands Nature Sanctuary in Highlands Co. (Southern OH). This one was clearly an adult with brilliant yellow flanks. On a sunny day earlier this week, another Blue-headed Vireo was observed singing its full song, which surprised me. But the singing my have been in response to my pshing. All three were part of mixed-species flocks which included yellow-rumped warblers and both kinglets.

I also saw an immature Palm Warbler (eating a caterpillar) today - part of a mixed-species flock as well.

In addition, I saw the first brown creeper of the season here today.
