A few stops along the river and reservoir (above the O'Shaughnessy dam) found plenty of migrant landbirds but few waterfowl this morning. Apparently, Hoover gets an early lead in the waterfowl rush. The only birds of note were raptors: Red-shouldered Hawk at Kiwanis Park, 45+ turkey Vultures around the dam, and an immature Bald Eagle up at Area P (Pylon Point). Lots of Ring-billed gulls were around the reservoir, but the only interesting ducks were several small flocks of Wood Ducks and a group of 4 Hooded Mergansers.
