Just finished watching 2 cackling geese and one white phase snow goose feeding with several hundred canada geese behind my house south of Hartville (Delorme 52 A1) at noon Saturday 10/27. These birds were in plowed fields just west of where Royce dead ends west of Market Ave just north of smith-kramer street. This flock roams around a lot and can also often be seen off Midway, Coblentz, Hoover, and Market at various times.
I believe it might have been Mark Shieldcastle who told this list several years ago to watch for cackling geese any time you find snow geese in Ohio as they tend to originate from the same areas and travel together. Each time I have found cackling geese in with canadas since then (3 or 4 times), there have always been snow geese present as well that first drew my attention.
