Birds were active and a few still coming in this morning at 8:00. I stayed a until a bit after 9:30. The CLAY-COLORED was easy to relocate. I found it very close to where the fence meets the marina waters, the north-west corner of the fence. Lots of good stuff around.
Clay-colored (1)
Chipping
Field
Vesper (2)
Song
Swamp
White-throated
White-crowned
Junco
(Missed on Lincoln's and Savannah today!?)
Other migrants *along or outside the fence* included:
Black-throated Blue Warbler (1)
Orange-crowned (5)
Nashville (1)
Palm (1)
Tennessee (1)
Yellow-rumped
Phoebe (2)
Hermit Thrush (3)
both kinglets
Red-breasted Nuthatch
E. Meadowlark (2)
When trying for the Clay-colored, look for the smallest bird in the flock in the grass outside the fence. It *looks* smaller that the Chipping Sparrows.
REQUEST: I would like to be called or emailed about specific locations of either Nelson's or Le Conte's within the Cleveland region. Please help me track down these birds. I will try for the Headlands bird today, but I don't know where to look. Thanks to all!
Cheers,
Ben Fambrough
