Hello

Arrived at Headlands today at about 8:15. Nothing really seen on the walk out to the breakwall. In the little bay area, however, were an estimated 5000 Bonaparte's Gulls. With them I counted 5 adult Little Gulls. They were very easy to spot because the Bonaparte's were all flying into the wind from one side of the bay to other, going very slowly. They would reach the front of the "line" and then fly very fast with the wind to the back, turn, and repeat the process over. Larry and Ray were there, and they said they hadn't seen any winter finches or owls earlier in the morning. Also on the water were some Canvasbacks, Ruddy Ducks, and Buffleheads.

Next I checked out Fairport Harbor. Not much there besides the common gulls. No watefowl.

Finally, I stopped at the Holden Arboretum. No finches there, or waxwings.

Brad Wilkinson
