Yesterday evening we observed 2 Merlin Section 85 and 95. At approximately
5:00 PM the Sec. 85 bird flew off to the east. A few minutes later we observed
it eating a Junco on the top of the Section 84 post. We were able to get
within 15' to photograph. It stayed on the post till 5:24 PM when it flew,
presumably to roost.
This evening it was the same situation except of course the Junco dinner!
Section 85 bird is a male and flew to roost before 5:00 PM. Started raining
10-15 minutes later.
The only other birds observed were
Canada Geese, Coopers Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk (2), Cedar Waxwings (22
yesterday), Starlings, and a 10 point buck!!!
Congratulations to the birders who got their Lifer Merlin tonight!!!!

Lori Brumbaugh
Delores Cole (11/24)
