Chaon found one at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge on the 24th.

Brant: Nancy Anderson found one at the marina at Wildwood Park,
Euclid, on the 24th. On the 28th, Craig Holt spotted one at
Evans Lake, Mahoning County. Craig cautions birders not to
proceed beyond the "No Trespassing" signs.

CACKLING GOOSE: The one near the beach at Maumee State Park,
Lucas County, remained at least through the 24th. Photo at
Rarebird.org. Tom Kemp spotted two in a mixed gaggle about
three miles east of Cygnet at the SW corner of Cygnet and
Cloverdale Roads in southern Wood County on the 25th.

Red-throated Loon: Jack Stenger found one at Delaware Lake,
Delaware County, on the 28th. Dan Sanders relocated it the next
day from Panhandle Road.

NORTHERN GANNET: Gabe Leidy saw a juvenile cruise by Huron on
the 29th.

PRAIRIE FALCON: On the 27th, two Michigan birders found a
juvenile along Veler Road east of Route 2. This is between
Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge and Metzger Marsh Wildlife
Area, Ottawa County. Photo at Rarebird.org.

Franklin's Gull: Dave Horn spied two amid a flock of gulls on
east side of US 127 about 3.5 miles north of its intersection
with US 33 (DeLorme p. 44) in Mercer County on the 25th.

Little Gull: The birds at the mouth of the Huron River, Erie
County, first reported on the 22nd were last reported on the
28th with negative reports since then. On the 24th Ethan
Kistler found one at Headlands Beach State Park, Lake County.
On the 25th John Pogacnik found one at Bayshore Power Plant,
Lucas County.

has been frequenting Clear Fork Reservoir, Richland County,
from the 22nd at least through the 28th.

Huron, Erie County, at the mouth of the river remains through
the 30th.

Black-legged Kittiwake: Ray Hannikman found a first-winter bird
at Headlands Beach State Park, Lake County, on the 30th.

Snowy Owl: Bob Hinkle reported on the 23rd that a starving
juvenile was recovered from the roadside in Cleveland and taken
to a wildlife rehabilitator. An adult owl made the TV news last
week for hanging around the Point Place neighborhood of Toledo.
The last positive report was on the 27th from 118th Street near
the dead end at the lake. Photos at Rarebird.org.

Northern Saw-Whet Owl: A female banded while nesting in Quebec
Province, Canada in May was recaptured near Chillicothe on
November 22. Photos from the spring and a map of its 900 mile
trek are at ftp://uqat.ca/ftptemp/854-38176/N193(2006).pdf.

RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD: The immature male visiting a garden and
feeders in Bluffton, Allen County, remains through the 30th.
The bird was captured and banded on October 29th. Pictures are
at Rarebird.org. Birders are welcome. Linda Houshower, the
homeowner, provided these directions: Bluffton is off I-75, 18
miles north of Lima or south of Findlay. Take either Bluffton
exit, east on Main St. to the Fire station on one corner, and
East of Chicago on the other corner, the street is Washington.
Turn left(north),3 stop signs(Jackson, Lawn, Spring), the house
is a tall brown with red roof on the right, where the street
dead ends. Park on the side of the street or at the dead end.
Come up the sidewalk towards the house, can't miss the feeders
and activity.

Northern Shrike: The juvenile bird in the campground at Maumee
Bay State Park, Lucas County, remained on the 28th. Photo at
Rarebird.org. According to Inga Schmidt one is regular in
Geauga County south of Chagrin Falls on Chagrin River Road near
the power line easement about 1000 ft east of the Cuyahoga
County line. It was reported on the 25th. Steve Lauer saw one
on the 24th along Sager Road just west of Wilkins, Lucas

Harbor, Lake County, on the 25th. There was a second hand
report of another at Huron, Erie County, on the 24th.

PINE GROSBEAK: The bird (now two apparently) found on the 21st
by Matt Anderson remains faithful -- at least through the 28th
-- to its locale along Obee Road just east of its intersection
with Rt 295. This is just east of Oak Openings Metropark, Lucas
County. A metal gate on the north side of Obee Road and a sheep
pen on the south are good landmarks. Photos at Rarebird.org.

with public access include Maumee Bay State Park, Lucas County;
