Greetings---I meandered around eastern Mahoning Co. today 11/13. The birding was much more interesting than I expected. Starting in Poland Twp., I had 3 wood ducks, 40 killdeer in a large field, 25 Am. pipits in another field. In Springfield Twp. I came across a large blackbird flock, with 1500 c. grackles and 500 red-wings minimum. At Pine L. were 35 tundra swans, ruddy ducks, pied-billed grebes, 2 bald eagles, 10 killdeer, 2 Wilson's snipe, belted kingfisher, yellow-rumped warbler, swamp sparrow, white-throated sparrow, and white-crowned sparrow. Mill Creek Wildlife Sanctuary held gadwalls and 40 green-winged teal. Evans L. had gadwalls, 10 n. shovelers, ruddy ducks, 300 Am. coots, 750 ring-billed gulls, 50 herring gulls, and golden-crowned kinglet. Other species found today included great blue herons, red-shouldered hawks, Carolina wrens, e. bluebirds, Am. robins, n. mockingbirds, and cedar waxwing. Later, Craig
