ROSS'S GOOSE: Scott Myers found one at the Thomas Wetlands
outside the village of Antwerp, Paulding County, along County
Roads 176/61, aka Harmann/Gonser Rds, on the 10th and the 11th.
On the 12th Troy Shively spotted one among a large mixed-
species flock of geese at a gravel pit in Auglaize County along
SR 33 about 2-3 miles west of New Hampshire.

CACKLING GOOSE: At least one was with the Auglaize County
Ross's Goose mentioned above. John Pogacnik identified four
among a large flock of Canada geese in Leroy Township, Lake
County, on the 13th. They were found there the next day by
Sally Isacco.

Long-tailed Duck: Phil Chaon saw one fly by the breakwall at
Headlands Beach State Park, Lake County, on the 10th. John
Pogacnik spotted one at Huron, Erie County, on the 11th.

Cattle Egret: On the 10th John Pogacnik found four in Sandusky,
Erie County, along Rt. 4 just north of Rt. 2. Paula Lozano saw
a flyby at Rocky River Park, Cuyahoga County, on the 11th.

Hudsonian Godwit: John Pogacnik located three near the beach in
Port Clinton, Ottawa County, on the 10th.

Pomarine Jaeger: Bret McCarty saw three offshore from Lakewood
Park, Cuyahoga County, on the 15th.

Laughing Gull: John Pogacnik reported one from the mudflat west
of the river at Huron, Erie County, on the 11th.

Little Gull: John Pogacnik found two at Huron, Erie County, on
the 11th.

Northern Saw-Whet Owl: John Pogacnik found one at East Harbor
State Park, Ottawa County, on the 10th. One was calling in
Shawnee State Forest, Scioto County, on the 11th according to
Rob Thorn. Jim McCormac reported that on the 14th the Ross
County banding operation captured three, bringing their total
to 93 since October 10. The Conservation Conference on Dec. 1
will include a visit to the banding operation. See McCormac's
blog (http://jimmccormac.blogspot.com/) for more details.

RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD: The immature male visiting a garden and feeders in
Bluffton, Allen County, remains through the 15th, having successfully
weathered snow flurries and the removal of a large hackberry tree. The
bird was captured and banded on the 29th. Pictures are at Rarebird.org.
Birders are welcome. Linda Houshower, the homeowner, provided these
directions: Bluffton is off I-75, 18 miles north of Lima or south of
Findlay. Take either Bluffton exit, east on Main St. to the Fire
station on one corner, and East of Chicago on the other corner, the
street is Washington. Turn left(north),3 stop signs(Jackson, Lawn,
Spring), the house is a tall brown with red roof on the right, where
the street dead ends. Park on the side of the street or at the dead
end. Come up the sidewalk towards the house, can't miss the feeders and
activity.

Northern Shrike: The third report from Killdeer Plains Wildlife
Area in as many weeks, each along a different road. This time
it was CH 68, where Shaune Skinner found one on the 12th.

Common Redpoll: Four were found by John Pogacnik at East Harbor
State Park, Ottawa County, on the 10th. He reported two fly-bys
at Huron, Erie County, on the 11th. Gabe Leidy had a flyby at
Headlands Beach State Park, Lake County, on the same day.
Individual birds were visiting feeders at two locales near
Clyde, Sandusky County, on the 10th and 11th respectively. One
was at a feeder in Logan County on the 11th. Greg Links found
six in the northwestern corner of Maumee Bay State Park, Lucas
County, on the 11th. A seventh bird resembled HOARY REDPOLL,
but the looks acquired did not allow a definitive ID.

Evening Grosbeak: Apparently Saturday the 10th was the last day
for the flock at the Gilberts' in Geauga County. Also on the
10th, one was at Sally Isacco's feeder in Chardon, Geauga
County. One visited a feeder at the Magee Marsh Birding Center,
Ottawa County, also on the 10th. Lisa Brohl reported one from
her feeder on South Bass Island, Ottawa County, on the 12th.
