After several Thick-billed Murres in Cleveland this morning (in the
collection at the natural history museum, truth be told...!), I ran a
couple of errands before arriving home.

As I walked around the corner to go in the side door of my house at 2:40
PM, I got a brief glimpse of only the green back of a hummingbird
checking out a purple mum. It left and though I have watched as much as
possible, I have not seen it again.

Two feeders now contain fresh sugar water and I will get nothing done
for the rest of the weekend as I do some hovering myself, at my window.

birds he would have done better to preach to the cats." -- Rebecca West
