After having gone to Guatemala on a birding trip last
year, I'm really interested in driving my own van
through Mexico, along the coast, maybe even up into
the Yucatan. I've been reading all of the pertinent
books/guides/trip reports for months now. I'd love to
have company, but I don't want to share my van because
I sleep in it. I've checked out RV caravans but just
can't see spending the $2000-3000 extra. If there are
others here in Ohio who have considered such a trip
and have time and interest in driving down this winter
(timing is flexible), please contact me. I speak
Spanish well enough to get by and have been to Mexico
several times (before I was a birder).
