Hey all -
First stop this morning was Gordon Park boat basin.
The female LONG-TAILED DUCK is still present and
looking spiffy. If it's not in the boat basin, try
checking from East 72nd's east end. There were
approximately 8 Horned Grebes present, but no Eared.
East 72nd Street was quite productive with first-year
ICELAND and GLAUCOUS GULLS, and 5 Lesser Black-backeds
(2 1st-yr, 2 2nd-yr, 1 ad). Another Lesser was seen
at E 55th Marina, and another just to the west of
there, bringing the total count to 7. Small numbers
of the expected waterfowl were all along the
lakefront, including a Canvasback and a shoveler.
Snow Buntings (14) flew over Gordon and a redpoll
passed by E. 72nd.
Burke Lakefront Airport had was good for Rough-legged
Hawk and harrier (one of each).
Good birding -
Gabe
