Greetings---again today 12/14 I decided to check areas closer to home instead of chasing staked-out rarities. I visited a number of places in southern Mahoning Co. and northern Columbiana Co. The imm. brant remains at Evans L. Six greater white-fronted geese were at Pine L. A "blue" snow goose was in a flooded area along Little Beaver Creek in Salem Twp. Also of note today were: wood duck, Am. black ducks, gadwalls, Am. wigeon, n. pintails, n. shovelers, green-winged teal, lesser scaup, ring-necked duck, buffleheads, c. goldeneyes, hooded mergansers, ruddy ducks, pied-billed grebe, horned grebes, great blue heron, n. harrier, red-shouldered hawk, sharp-shinned hawk, Am. kestrels, and Am. coots. Passerines were rather scarce other than hundreds of crows. Craig
