Van Wert had its first CBC in twenty-two years on 12/15/07.
Quick stats:
        54 participants (19 adults and 35 high school students)
        10 vehicles
        41 species.
We were out from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00  p.m., when the snow storm
arrived.  (Having 25 pairs of young eyes certainly helps).  Fun was
had by all even though we had to cancel our Chili/Chocolate social
for that evening.  Everything to the freezer for a day in January or
February!

This was a project of the newly reactivated Upper Maumee Valley
Naturalists Club. Jean is President and John is the Conservation
Chair. We meet the third Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the
Wassenberg Art Center. Besides many field trips and a monthly
speaker, we will be tagging Monarchs in 2008 as well as another CBC.
