Hello All!

Have been trying to take Su up on her birding challenge but a hawk keeps perching itself just above the feeders looking for an easy snack on this blustery and snowy Sunday.  He (or she) is lovely to look at, but not conducive to good birdwatching as the feeders have been void of birdlife for much of the day.  However, here's what has showed up so far:

red-breasted nuthatch, white-breasted nuthatch, cooper's or sharp-shinned hawk, downy woodpecker, red-bellied woodpecker, juncos, cardinals, blue jays, tufted titmouse, chickadee, and fox sparrow.

The most abundant bird species has been cardinal with 12 and the most unusal would have to be the coopers or sharp-shinned and the fox sparrow.

Anyone wanting to help confirm the ID of the hawk can find pictures (hopefully this will work) at the following web address http://picasaweb.google.com/mjskol/2007Birds  or on my blog http://skolmutch2.blogspot.com .

Happy birding to all!
