I arrived at the cemetery at 3:00 PM and the Merlin was already in the
Section 85 tree. After a perimeter check which added zero birds I went to look for
the Section 95 bird which was not there yet. After a drive to view the
sandpit ponds in which there were 3 Pied-billed Grebes I went back to Section 85
where this bird was eating a Junco. Not sure if it flew to my yard to get the
Junco which would be about a mile away because other than the 170+ Canada
Geese and a small flock of Starlings I never saw another bird!
Both of these birds went to roost about 4:30 PM just as the wind/rain moved
in.
