Hello Fellow Birders,

Thought it was a good time to give an E. 72nd. Street Update from
Cleveland (I-90 and Gordon Park).

On Sunday, December 16th at 12 p.m., I went to see the gulls as the
storm hit (how did the Browns play through that weather?). Winds were
at 45 mph and it was snowing parallel to the ground. Here is a short
video:

Yesterday, December 20, 2007, at 2 p.m. I saw an apparent Kumlien's
Gull (Larus glaucoides kumlieni). I placed a movie of it on my web
site. You may view it at the bottom of the page here:

Today December 21 at 2-3 p.m. I saw what looked like a Herring x
Great Black-backed Gull. It looked very similar to the photos I have
up labeled xgull from last season. The gull was between GBBG and HERG
size. The back/mantle was one shade darker gray than Herring. Could
not determine leg color.
Too late for photos, but have them and will get them up later. That
same day there was one Lesser Black-backed Gull and another reported
at E. 55th Marina. Rescued a Ring-billed Gull from a fisherman's line.

There were large gull numbers in the thousands off Wendy Park
breakwall by Edgewater Park off Hwy 2.

Have a great holidays!
