I got back out to the Hopeton Site just North of Chillicothe late this afternoon..this site used to be leased for hay bailing, but the lease is up, and the Harriers have taken over-5 or 6 seen most trips..along with several Kestrels, and Red-tails everywhere you look.

So Dave Dyer and I made a point to be there for dusk tonight.. hoping for Owls..getting there about 4:45pm...the show started about 5:25pm. Before long the area was alive with Short-ears! They were very vocal this evening too..my best guess is 12 owls, give or take a few..dark came fast, so counting was tough at best. This was a new bird for Dyer..and he will not forget them!

Another new bird(I think) for this site.
