This morning we swept the 2" of snow off the patio and cast some safflower
and sunflower seed. Almost immediately besides the usual juncos, house
sparrows, house finches, Carolina wrens, red-breasted nuthatches, titmice, cardinals,
and Carolina chickadees, etc. etc. etc., we had 4 female red-wings, 8 male
cowbirds and 5 female cowbirds. Is this the avian edition of Desperate
Housewives?
