While surveying 2 of my winter Atlas grids along Tappan Lake and south of Cadiz on mostly strip mined lands with my son, Dave Hemperly we managed to find 4 Rough legged Hawks, a Harrier, 4 Red-tails,several Mockingbirds.Of note was well above 10,000 Starlingsand several hundred American Robins. These birds occurred all over the place, sometimes in very large flocks!
More later,
Regards, Winnie Sarno
