On Thursday, (1/ 10 ) we had five redpolls coming to our feeders. Friday ( 1/11), there were seven coming and going all day. Today there were thirteen. They appear to really like the fine sunflower chips in our tube feeder as well as the thistle feeder. They even feed on the ground under our main feeder which contains black oil and even on the squirrel guard that catches the overflow. It's fun to watch how competitive they are with the goldfinches, tree sparrows and house finches.

Sally Isacco, Chardon
