   Did a loop from here in Akron out through Medina and Lorain Counties before ending up back at Firestone Metro Park in Akron.
  TIME: 6:45am - 2:15pm TEMP.: 35-43-39 COND.: Overcast and calm most of the day, partly sunny by the time I got to Firestone. So this is winter, huh?
  VEH. MI.: 158.8 OBS.: Douglas W. Vogus
     I ended up with 44 species for the day and I'll just list the highlights at each stop and won't bore anyone with my pigeon, starling, house sparrow totals.

  4. Redhead - 1 (m)
  5. Ring-necked Duck - about 80
  6. Lesser Scaup - about 200
  7. Bufflehead - 5 (2m,3f)
  8. Ruddy Duck - 41
  9. American Coot - 204
  10. Pied-billed Grebe - 4

  FINDLEY STATE PARK (very quiet here, not much moving at all)
  1. Canada Goose - 16

  LORAIN & MEDINA COUNTY BACKROADS - heading back east
  1. Red-tailed Hawk - 4
  2. American Kestrel - 6 (2m,2f,2?)
  3. Northern Harrier - 1 (f)
  4. Horned Lark - about 60
     The harrier was along Spencer Mills Rd. and kicked up 2 flocks of larks, about 30 birds in each flock.
  5. Eastern Bluebird - 2 (1m,1f - Shaw Rd.)

  SPENCER LAKE WILDLIFE AREA - nothing here at all
  NESMITH LAKE - 47 coots
  TURKEYFOOT LAKE - 1 Mute Swan
  NORTH RESERVOIR - 6 Mallards
  NIMISILA RESERVOIR - 8 Mute Swan, 3 Mallard

  FIRESTONE METRO PARK
  1. Mallard - 7 (4m,3f)
  2. Mourning Dove - 5
  3. Eastern Screech-Owl - 1 (red phase)
  4. Belted Kingfisher - 1 (m)
  5. Red-bellied Woodpecker - 1 (m)
  6. Downy Woodpecker - 4 (1m,2f,1*)
  7. Hairy Woodpecker - 2 (1f,1*)
  8. Blue Jay - 4
  9. Black-capped Chickadee - 6
  10. Tufted Titmouse - 4
  11. White-breasted Nuthatch - 4
  12. Carolina Wren - 1
  13. American Tree Sparrow - 3
