Spent the day along the lake front. Thousands of gulls from Sandusky to
Cleveland. Highlights:
East 72nd Street - 8 species of gull
Bonaparte's Gull
Ring-billed Gull
Herring Gull
Thayer's Gull - several
Iceland Gull - several
Glaucous Gull - 6+
Lesser Black-backed Gull - several
Great Black-backed Gull - possible 100+
Rocky River Park
Greater Scaup
Black Scoter - 3 reported to me by an observer at Avon Lake; I did see them
Avon Lake
American Coot - 2
Bonaparte's Gull
Ring-billed Gull
Herring Gull
Great Black-backed Gull
Huron
Bonaparte's Gull
Ring-billed Gull
Herring Gull
Iceland Gull - 1 second year
Lesser Black-backed Gull - 1 adult and 1 second year
Great Black-backed Gull - 20+
Had a Common Redpoll at the Sandusky Wild Birds Unlimited store in town.
2 Sandhill Cranes flying north at the US 2 and US 250 intersection in
Sandusky.
Horned Larks, Lapland Longspurs, and Snow Buntings every where along back
roads in NW OHIO.
