Hello Ohio Birders,

For central Ohio yearlisters who don't want to travel far, the Olentangy River black-crowned night herons have been spending their days at the traditional winter roost, on the west bank of the Olentangy River just north of the Herrick Drive bridge, OSU main campus. Today (at noon) there were 8 birds, readily visible from the east bank, south of Drake Union. Parking on campus is a challenge as usual but there are a few meters at Drake Union and in the lot south of Lincoln Tower. There is usually space at these meters before 9 am and after 4 pm.

Happy birding,

Dave Horn
