One Greater White-fronted Goose (Greenland race) was seen with a large group of Canada Geese at the man-made ponds along the power lines in Leroy Township, just east of Brakeman Road on Rte. 86.? The geese were very skittish and therefore likely migrating through.?

My thanks to John Pogacnik for posting a Cackling Goose?near this site since that is what caused me to be there.? I do not know if I saw the?Cackling Goose or not since the size of this species is so variable that I would not feel confident in calling it unless it were at the small end of the scale.? In any event, the Greater White-fronted is a life bird for me and MUCH cooler than any old cackler.
