Cleveland Metroparks CanalWay Center in Cuyahoga Heights has had our
resident flock of 15+ red-winged blackbirds coming to our feeders all
winter. Among all the males is one female. The males have started singing
their konk-la-ree song. Other feeder regulars: 15-20 tree sparrows, 12-15
cardinals, white-throated sparrows, juncos, goldfinch, a few house finch,
white-breasted nuthatch, downy woodpecker, hairy woodpecker, red-bellied
woodpecker, Cooper's hawk, and 4 red-tailed hawks. I also noted some of the
Canada geese have started pairing up.
