Greeting,
It was a good day to count birds while avoiding the changing weather.
At the feeder we had:
Red Polls - 8 * An all time high count
House Finch - 12
Gold Finches - 15
Pileated Woodpecker - 1
Chickadees - 3
Titmice - 2
RB Nuthatches - 3
WB Nuthatch - 1
Juncos - 15
Cardinals - 9
Coopers Hawk - 1
Downy - 1
Hairy Woodpecker - 3
Red Bellied Woodpecker - 1
Carolina Wren - 1
Purple Finch - 1
I was surprised to see the Pileated strike a "still " pose when the
Coopers Hawk showed up. For some reason I thought it would be
oblivious to such a small hawk. All the other birds took flight
immediately into shrub and bushes.
All in all it was a fun day of observation
Happy Birding
Dorothy
