Yesterday I made several stops at Hoover. The first one was at Mudhen
Marsh where I saw three or four red headed woodpeckers (most were the same
ones Charlie reported seeing, though one more flew in after he left),
numerous northern cardinals and blue jays, three northern flickers, a
great blue heron (which I must have flushed out), and a red-breasted
nuthatch.
Next stop was the dam where I saw mallards, common goldeneyes, northern
shovelers, a great blue heron fishing, and a song sparrow below the dam.
Above the dam there were buffleheads, hooded mergansers, ring-billed
gulls, Canada geese.

Driving north to Maxtown Road I stopped at three more locations and saw
black ducks, European Starlings, American crows, tufted titmice, and a
snow goose.

The snow goose was at area D at the northeast corner of Sunbury and
Smothers Rds. It flew off to the northeast after posing for one picture.
That picture is posted in the bird identification section of the forum.
