Hi all,
The Northern Shrike is still on territory at the Cricket Frog Cove Park. (Wood Co.Park District) West of Cygnet. This bird has a pretty large area to choose from and though others have reported a Shrike there more recently it is our first sighting since late December. There is also a beautiful dark morph Rough-legged Hawk frequenting the area. We have seen it 3 times in the last few days. Yesterday (2/15) I saw it drive a Northern Harrier off a kill. Fortunately the NOHA seemed to be about finished with her meal because the RLHA did'nt stay long and the Harrier while continuing to hunt in the area didn't return to the kill site.
