SPECIES IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS ARE REVIEW-LIST SPECIES. Details of
these sightings are desired by The Ohio Bird Records Committee. Careful
observation, not ornithological expertise, is the only qualification
for submitting your data. For details and pointers see:
http://www.ohiobirds.org/records/documentation.php

ROSS'S GOOSE: Rick Asamato spotted three at Cowan Lake State Park on
the 16th.

CACKLING GOOSE: Phil Chaon found two at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge
on the 15th. On the same day, Bob Sams reported two from Lake Cascades,
which is between the hospital and SR15 on the west side of Findlay. On
the 16th, Sean Williams and Jack Stenger found one at the Delaware
Reservoir.

Northern Bobwhite: Tracy Morman had a covey in her driveway in Scipio
Township, Meigs County, on the 19th.

Red-throated Loon: The bird discovered on the 9th at Caesar's Creek
State Park was still present through the 17th.

Red-necked Grebe: Bill Stanley reported one from East Fork State Park,
and John Habiq one from Cowan Lake State Park, both on the 17th.

Northern Goshawk: The Neubauers reported a juvenile bird at their
residence in Englewood, Montgomery County, on the 20th.

Golden Eagle: John Habiq saw one flying over Killdeer Plains Wildlife
Area on the 16th.

Northern Shrike: The bird along the Magee Marsh Wildlife Area causeway
was seen on the 18th and the 21st. The bird at Cricket Frog Cove Park,
Wood County, remains on territory as well.

Yellow-headed Blackbird: Kathy Sabo had an apparent one-day wonder
visiting her feeders in Jackson Township, Clermont County, on the 20th.

Brewer's Blackbird: Phil Chaon spied one in a large blackbird flock
just west of Maumee Bay State Park on Cedar Point Road, Lucas County,
on the 15th.

Common Redpoll: Reported this week from private feeders in Geauga,
Ottawa, Mahoning, Lorain, and Lake counties. Ethan Kistler's map at
Rarebird.org shows 43 counties with redpoll sightings.

HOARY REDPOLL: The Bobolink RBA (330-763-5119) reports that one is
visiting a feeder at Levi Yoder's home near Trail, Holmes County
(Delorme p.51 D5). The address is 2230 TR 415. Visitors are welcome.
Please sign the guestbook. Please observe the feeders from the barn and
do not approach them closely. A scope is desirable. The Bobolink has
details and should be checked before visiting.
