We are visiting Lorain County this weekend, and took the grandkids out for
little birding.

Carlisle Reservation: At least 12 common redpolls were visiting the thistle
feeders at the visitor center.

Caley Reservation: Spotted 3 Long-eared owls near the top of a pine tree on
the left (north-east) side of the parking lot. The pine trees grow along a
ridge that runs parallel to the parking lot, and the tree where I saw the
owls grows on the side of the ridge opposite the parking lot. They were
spotted shortly before noon today.
