SPECIES IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS ARE REVIEW-LIST SPECIES. Details of
these sightings are desired by The Ohio Bird Records Committee. Careful
observation, not ornithological expertise, is the only qualification
for submitting your data. For details and pointers see:
http://www.ohiobirds.org/records/documentation.php

CACKLING GOOSE: John Habiq reported six from Cowan Lake State Park on
the 23rd.

Harlequin Duck: Donald Morse found one along the bank of the Ohio River
at Skipper's Marina Restaurant, New Richmond, Clermont County on the
26th. It could not be relocated on the 28th.

Iceland Gull: A third cycle bird was along the Cleveland lakefront near
the Browns' Stadium on the 23rd. It could not be relocated on the 24th.

Northern Shrike: The bird at Cricket Frog Cove Park, Wood County,
remains on territory. Another was reported from Killdeer Plains
Wildlife Area on the 23rd.

HARRIS'S SPARROW: On the 23rd, multiple observers saw the young male
bird visiting a private residence at 31412 TR 227 near New Bedford,
Coshocton County. According to the Bobolink RBA (330-763-5119) the bird
is usually in the ravine near the house or in the blue spruces in the
yard. Please respect private land and bird from the road.

Common Redpoll: Reported this week from publicly accessible feeders at
Oak Openings Metropark, Lucas County, and Carlise Reservation, Lorain
County, and from private feeders in Lucas, Lorain, Lake, and Holmes
counties.

HOARY REDPOLL: Multiple observers saw the bird visiting Levi Yoder's
home near Trail, Holmes County (Delorme p.51 D5). The address is 2230
TR 415. Visitors are welcome. Please sign the guestbook. Please observe
the feeders from the barn and do not approach them closely. A scope is
desirable. The Bobolink RBA (330-763-5119) has details and should be
checked before visiting.
