Several of us went to the Niagara area yesterday in search of the Ross's
Gull. I'm sorry to report that the bird was not seen; the last known
sighting was at 10:00 am February 1.

There were many birders in the area looking for the gull. (I didn't count
carefully but saw at least 60 birders.) Moreover, some were searching both
upriver and downriver from the the falls. For instance, we went downriver
as far as Fort Niagara.

Several groups of birders are there today still looking, so it's possible
that the bird will be refound. But prospect don't look too good at this
point.

We will have a more complete report shortly, but I wanted to get the Ross's
Gull news to everyone today.
