I appreciate John's effort here as it allows me to compare
the listserv to progress with Project eBird. In the case of January
sightings, despite a tremendous increase in checklist
submissions (a little more than 1100), only 136 species
were submitted ... two fewer than what Ryan managed to
find for his January century effort ... although I note two
winter resident species, Barn Owl and Ruffed Grouse are
presently absent from the list.

prepared a summary using WORD. I have it broke down into annual,
seasonal, monthly, review species, resident birds and birds of concern

By the way, last January 136 species were reported. This January there
were 151. There were twice as many review species reported this January
over last January.
