Hi Folks,

I wanted to thank all of you who have helped the Black Swamp Bird
Observatory complete the final year for the Ohio Winter Bird Atlas. With
over 350 blocks that had less than 20 species, I have looked over the data
sheets turned in and we have covered well over 100 of those blocks this
January. Thanks to all who have made the extra efforts to fill in the gaps.
With it being only the 1st of February, I expect more of the orphaned blocks
to have been covered. I encourage those of you that have not turned in your
January Winter Bird atlas data to send it to me via e-mail or snail mail the
forms by February 10th. It will take a few months to get the data in the
form of producing maps but look for updated maps by the end of summer. We
will then be working on the manuscript which should be exciting when it all
comes together.

I know some of you have been birdwatching last month and have not sent me a
WBA form for these. All of it is important data, so please send it in.

All the best,

Julie Shieldcastle
