Greetings---birding was good in Ashtabula Co. today 2/8. At Lake Shore Park in Ashtabula were 4 long-tailed ducks, surf scoter, white-winged scoter, 100 common mergansers, and 2 horned grebes. Conneaut had 125 greater scaups, 300 common mergansers, horned grebe, Iceland gull, glaucous gull, and snow bunting. Also along the Ashtabula--Conneaut lakefront were 35 Am. black ducks, 11 canvasbacks, lesser scaups, buffleheads, c. goldeneyes, red-breasted merganser, Am. coots, 110 great black-backed gulls. In the Pymatuning area I found red-shouldered hawks, belted kingfisher, 42 horned larks, e. bluebirds, and 11 snow buntings. Later, Craig
