My wife and I drove along Rt. 6 from Fremont to Sandusky. Saw many Horned
Larks, over 50, along Rt. 6. Also, witnessed 4 pairs of Adult Bald Eagles:
1 pair north of Rt. 2- 1 soaring and 1 in nest in woodlot behind McDonalds
on west side of Huron; another pair in woodlot nest north of Rt. 6 by M&M
tavern; 1 pair of adults sitting in a grove of trees south of Rt. 2
between Huron and Sandusky; and two adults soaring above Pickerel Creek
WA. We stopped in Castalia Pond and the divers are here! Six Bufflehead,
some Lesser Scaup and Redhead, hoards of Gadwall, Am. Widgeon, N.
Shovelers, and a lone Canvasback. Seeing mature Bald Eagles from the car
while driving Rt. 6 & Rt. 2 to Sandusky made my day. Robert in
Fremont
