Today at 3 PM there were 58 white morph SNOW GEESE and 40 blue morphs along with some Canadas on the grass by Cowan Lake swimming beach. It was quite a sight but I saw little else.

I went out because this AM Bob Thobaben called to tell me of the huge number of waterfowl at Cowan. He had counted:
250  Canada Geese
5      Pintail
4      Wigeon
7      Hooded Mergansers
2      Red-breasted Mergansers
28    Lesser Scaup
12    Ring-necked Ducks
4      Goldeneye
125  Mallards
7      Buffleheads
9      Canvasbacks
15    Black Ducks
5      Ruddy Ducks
3      Red Heads
2      Snow Geese
3      Coots

There was still some very tricky black ice on the beach parking lot and the road to it is tricky. Scoping from the upper parking lot may be safer.
