Subject: Cowan waterfowl

Today Cowan Lake is mostly open and as a result the birds which had been concentrated are scattered. This AM Bob Thobaben and I found:
100 + Canada Geese
35 Anerican Black Ducks
150+ Mallards
8 Northern Pintail
5 Wigeon
3 Redhead
7 Lesser Scaup
3 Common Merganser
1 Red-breasted Merganser
9 Ruddy Ducks
2 Coots
1 Turkey Vulture

The very large group of Snow Geese probably took off for other climes. We did not see a single Snow Goose.

Chilly Day Cheers, Larry Gara
